@Jebus have you had a chance to check out any of my recommendations? If so, what do you think?
Yes, I listened to Amorphis probably about 15 times. I thought it was a pretty solid album and I liked their sound. However, I did not find any stand out songs so it ended up in the trash bin.
That album while I really like it I can understand you feeling that way. I guess I rec'd it over other Amorphis albums because it's the closest they've done to a solid progressive rock album. I would personally recommend their albums Skyforger, and Queen of Time over Am Universum if it wasn't about what sounds like prog rock.
Did you try any of the other recs? That Amorphis one was one of the weaker ones tbh, out of the ones I rec'd before I would go with Strange in Stereo by In the Woods... over everything else.

What do you think if you've had time with it?
Also, an album I rediscovered recently which I think you should hear is The Immunity Zone by Andromeda. It's the closest to prog rock I've recommended to you besides Porcupine Tree.

I didn't like this one. Most of it was too heavy for my taste and the slow parts lacked a bit of feel.
I just started listening to Strange in Stereo. So far I like it.

So I listened a bunch of times to Strange in Stereo. Definitely my favorite from your recommendations and "Vanish in the absence of Virtue" a definite keeper.

Glad you liked it. Vanish in the Absence of Virtue is one of my favourites too. The closest other album In the Woods... has done to Strange in Stereo is Omnio, so you might wanna check out Omnio.
Also, I found one progressive rock/metal band recently which you might like. They're called Vulturic Eye and their EP called The Crucifixion of Hope is pretty good.
Oh, and also there's this interesting kinda progressive band called Noekk that I like. You should try their Carol Stones and Elder Rock EP, or their albums The Grimalkin, or The Minstrel's Curse.
