Actually, Hitler was a Christian. But why would those dictators being atheists mean that being an atheist should make you a murderer?

Actually, it's not certain what Hitler's religious views were. He definitely wasn't an atheist, and he publicly claimed to be a Christian, but in private, he criticised Christianity. See this Wikipedia article:
