I'm just a newbie, I started to become a vegan for diet purposes. I'm always big and I wanted to get leaner and healthier. I believe that this is the best way to get healthier and avoid heart diseases.

Definitely!

Remember to try to limit your junk food, and empty calories like oil that would make it easy for you to gain more weight without added nutrients, and try to eat whole foods as much as you can.
And of course, exercising with some cardio is the cherry on top.
