Hello friends!!
Truly excited about exploring this forum - was introduced to it by a fellow vegan friend who promised that I may encounter some insightful discussions on some nuanced topics within veganism. I, myself have been vegan for almost one and a half years now.

Re: Hello friends!!
Hey Red,
Thank you!!
Well, as i became more and more aware of the atrocities farm animals faced in the name of meat and dairy, i couldn't justify the unethical exploitation of these animals as if they're mere commodities for something so arbitrary as taste nor could i morally distinguish farm animals from domesticated animals that i simply would not consider food - so to remain philosophically consistent, i became a vegan. There was a clear disconnect from the source of the food to my plate - which has since been thwarted and I simply could not go back. I often wish that this awareness had come sooner.
I have been trying to be more active in my advocacy recently (starting with my own circle of friends) - motivated by situations where people i know who were vegan reverting back to being non-vegans - mostly for health reasons.
I am looking forward to being exposed to more topics within veganism that may not be as easy or black&white for us to navigate as we would like them to be.

I don't think your story is too uncommon. Many people realize there isn't a significant moral difference between pigs and dogs; I think everyone here wishes they went vegan sooner than they did.

Welcome dhedo.
Indeed this is the place to be if you want to escape the bandwagon opinions that you find on most vegan forums.

How to become vegan in 4.5 hours:
1.Watch Forks over Knives (Health)
2.Watch Cowspiracy (Environment)
3. Watch Earthlings (Ethics)
Congratulations, unless you are a complete idiot you are now a vegan.
