Hi there!
I'm originally from the UK. Vegan for three years. Currently living in South Korea (which is by no means a vegan paradise, but this will hopefully shift in due time!) Through exploring arguments for and against veganism in book, online, on YouTube, articles and such I've become more interested in vegan philosophy and ethics and more broadly speaking philosophy in general. I've never formally studied philosophy but I try to think critically and remain open minded on many issues.
Hopefully (after lurking for a little while...) I can look forward to engaging in some thought provoking conversations!

Re: Hello!
Hello joji, welcome to the forum! I've heard that in eastern Asia veganism can be a bit challenging, especially compared to western Europe and NA.
You don't need to have had a formal education in philosophy to discuss here. I think most of us here just read some literature and watch debates; We don't really consider people with philosophy educations to be much more philosophically literate than us.
Anyway, feel free to jump into any discussion.

Re: Hello!
Thanks both of you for the warm welcome. Living in Asia certainly poses it's own set of unique challenges in regards to vegan living which maybe I'll find the time to highlight and discuss. And good to know I'm not alone! Philosophy can seem rather intimidating at times but I don't want to let that stop me.

Re: Hello!
Welcome joji!
I just noticed on Happy Cow that Seoul has 44 vegan restaurants. Not too shabby. Do they have vegan mock dog meat yet?
I can imagine veganism is far behind outside the city though.

How to become vegan in 4.5 hours:
1.Watch Forks over Knives (Health)
2.Watch Cowspiracy (Environment)
3. Watch Earthlings (Ethics)
Congratulations, unless you are a complete idiot you are now a vegan.
