A quick snack

Post by Unknownfromheaven »

Whenever I have a lot of work and don't have a whole bunch of time for cooking, I'm enjoying a quick snack and I want to share it with you. Maybe you already tried this, maybe you didn't.

If you like toast, you can use slices of bread and you can cover them with mushrooms, black olives, tomatoes, and cheese, I tried the vegan option as well. I also use various herbs and seeds.
You put them in the oven and leave them for five or seven minutes (depending on the temperature). I like these more than a pizza. I think the taste is better.
I also have other options, but I like this the most.

What other quick options do you know of, or when you want to eat something fast?

It depends on the time of day really. For breakfast if I don't have much time, I'll probably grab an apple or an energy bar (although I usually skip breakfast), or if I have some more time I'll make a peanut butter banana sandwich with a glass of soymilk, or I'll even have one of those folded Just Eggs.

Throughout the day I may have nuts and seeds as snacks (mostly walnuts and pumpkin seeds), or sometimes I'll have some red peppers, carrots and hummus.

I might try your suggestion, what mushrooms and type of (vegan) cheese do you use? I don't really like olives though.

Those are nice and simple. I love that. I seldom have breakfast, usually, when I do there are some cereals and coconut milk.
To answer your question, those mushrooms are small and sliced and always come in jars or cans, so, the simple ones  as for the cheese, I always get it from Violife, I didn't pay attention at first, the big yellow slices were too distracting. :D

Here is something else, and it might seem a little bit crazy, but I love the taste and it's fast. So, you can cut some slices of orange (one would do), you put the slices on a plate and you can put french fries on them, cover them for three minutes, and those fries will have orange flavor. The way I do them is that I heat up the oil for two or three minutes and that's the fastest way for me, although I know it's not that healthy, I always make sure that the oil is fresh. I usually combine these with a homemade sauce. Using mayonnaise with parsley, garlic, and pickles, I mix them up and eat them together.
