Cosmic Skeptic eating dead animals again

Post by Jebus »

I am surprised and disappointed to learn that Cosmic Skeptic, aka Alex O'Connor is no longer vegan. This does so much damage to the vegan movement.

The most disappointing thing is that his reasons are so utterly stupid, not at all what one would expect from someone of his intellligence.

Utterly gutted!
How to become vegan in 4.5 hours:
1.Watch Forks over Knives (Health)
2.Watch Cowspiracy (Environment)
3. Watch Earthlings (Ethics)
Congratulations, unless you are a complete idiot you are now a vegan.

Yep, I've pretty much lost all intellectual respect for him (which is unfortunate, since he's no idiot).

He's pushing the individual actions don't matter argument right? I think any intellectually honest person can see why it's a dumb position, but I guess he isn't the person we thought he was.

I highly doubt he originally came to the "actions don't matter" position, THEN decided it was OK to eat meat, almost certainly he was super tempted to eat meat again (or actually DID eat meat) and used it as a post-hoc rationalization.

His story isn't all that uncommon sadly, even a lot of hardcore Vegans give it up after a while, whether it's due to convienence or temptation, and begin to spout the same ignorant arguments that they themselves refuted at one point.

I'm not too surprised after seeing how bad he was at debating Mikhaila Peterson on veganism. I think all his excuses are pathetic, so an easy unsubcribe!

I didn't see it, but I heard how disastrous it was. Didn't he basically concede that Veganism is less healthy? Maybe he's eating meat now to save face (though he probably would've saved MORE face if he made a follow up video to the debate explaining where he messed up).

For anyone reading, while the health arguments for Veganism aren't the strongest, you should at least be familiar with the arguments for and against it, especially if you're gonna be in a debate about Veganism. CS is a smart guy, and he has no excuse for being ignorant with the health arguments (as he does for resuming his consumption of meat).
