Smoothies

Post by miniboes »

So I recently got a blender from my mother. I really like making smoothies as it is a great way pack a lot of nutrients, especially if you throw some spinach/kale in there. You don't even taste the vegetables. Do you guys ever make smoothies? What are your favorite recipes?

I made this one yesterday:
2 handfuls of raw spinach
500g pineapple
350g mango
Some water
Chia seeds

It was delicious.

I have a Vitamix blender and make smoothies almost every day. I pretty much add ingredients at random. It just depends on what I have available. I find it tastes a lot better if I add a bit of coconut water, cashew milk, or hazelnut milk.

Congratulations, unless you are a complete idiot you are now a vegan.

I'd start making them when I get a blender. But I have a friend who makes smoothies all the time, and her favorite recipe is Bananas + Oats. Simple, and very tasty.

Nice, for free I guess, based on warranty? Do they cover the shipping, and have they given you any trouble over it?

It's good to know which blender companies are replacement friendly, when you ride those things hard they tend to burn out.

Also, welcome!

Yeah, I almost burned my blender when doing vegan mayonese for my grandma this Christmas… But back to the smoothies.

I make smoothies very often, usually with leafy greens like kale and raw spinach, sometimes even broccoli and zucchini. usually I would put those greens with some banana, apple, pear, add some water and lemon juice, and mix it. Fresh lemon juice adds a lot to a simple smoothie. Sometimes I add spices too, like cardamon.
