Sister brought home some 'vegan' chips that she said were tasty. And... I loved them! I usually don't like chips but if you guys wish to check it out here is some pics.

I agree I was skeptical when I had first bought them, but they are delicious!

Are they some kind of potato chip, with vegetable powder mixed in?

I had something similar to those. They are made with different veggies (i.e. potato, carrot, etc). Pretty good.

Great to see that there is a vegan alternative for pretty much everything in USA/Canada, even chips. Some of the 'standard' chips also don't contain any animal products in my country. Thankfully the ones I enjoy (like 'wokkels' and sweet chili pepper—not sure you have them in USA/Canada).

I'm not sure I grasp the concept of flavored chips.
Don't you dip them in anything?
If you do dip them, doesn't the dip have flavor?
And if the dip has flavor, what's the point of the chip having flavor powder on it?
It seems redundant...

No, you don't dip them in anything. They just taste nice by themselves. Is dipping a normal practice from where you come from? Here it's almost never done as far as I know. The dipping sauce seems redundant to me.brimstoneSalad wrote:I'm not sure I grasp the concept of flavored chips.

Corn chips + bean dip, or salsa
Potato wedges + spicy BBQ sauce
Pita or pita chips + hummus, or a good green curry dip.
Crispy toasted slices of French bread + a nice garlic nut cheese.
The notion pairs a crispy starch item which can be handled, with a more dense, usually higher protein and fat item which provides the moisture.
The compliment, nutritionally and texturally, with the efficiency of bowl to mouth delivery, is the whole point.
Also, plain chips are almost always vegan... I'm not sure if I've ever seen a non-vegan corn chip.
Chips without dip seems some kind of lowbrow gastronomic blasphemy . No sir, I won't have it!
