why do you assume that most vegans would answer YES?
Even if so, I suppose that many of the vegans would answer yes to save the energy in entering a pointless debate, if they one who was asking it was serious about it.
I would probably reply "yes, I hate plants so much that I eat as many as I can to get them off this planet. If they became sentient all the better as they would feel the pain. little green mofos"
Does plants inlcude fungi in this scenario? If so your feelings are justified. I mean sentient fungi... fuck. There are fungi which (or in case of sentience 'who'?) invade the brains of insects to spread in colonies. We could get a zombie-like infestetion controlled by sentient fungi. In the warhammer 40k Universe orks are fungi based humanoids. We don't want orks to happend do we? No! Get rid of them fungis.
