Saw James Garfield trending on Twitter. Thought that his time to be noticed had finally came. Alas, it was about a horse named "James Garfield".

I know you asked why I have such a profound admiration for Polk, for which my rebuttal is, how can you ask such an asinine question?
And I know that you want an actual list, so here it goes. This is not as opinionated, this is more objective.
Great
Abraham Lincoln
Franklin D. Roosevelt
George Washington
Near Great
Theodore Roosevelt
Dwight D. Eisenhower
Thomas Jefferson
Harry S. Truman
James Madison
Woodrow Wilson
Lyndon B. Johnson
James K. Polk
James A. Garfield
Barack Obama
Above Average
Ulysses S. Grant
James Monroe
Bill Clinton
John F. Kennedy
John Quincy Adams
William McKinley
Jimmy Carter
William Howard Taft
Grover Cleveland
John Adams
Richard Nixon
Chester A. Arthur
George H. W. Bush
Gerald Ford
Andrew Jackson
Average
Martin Van Buren
Rutherford B. Hayes
Zachary Taylor
Benjamin Harrison
William Henry Harrison
Below Average
John Tyler
Herbert Hoover
Calvin Coolidge
Herbert Hoover
Ronald Reagan
Failure
Millard Filmore
Orange Man
Warren G. Harding
Franklin Pierce
Andrew Johnson
James Buchanan
In terms of domestic achievements however, the top ten would be:
Franklin Roosevelt
Theodore Roosevelt
Lyndon B. Johnson
Abraham Lincoln
George Washington
Woodrow Wilson
Dwight D. Eisenhower
Harry S. Truman
James K. Polk
Barack Obama

I realize you are only putting Polk highly because I hate his guts. At least I hope that's why. If you actually like Polk, I am very concerned!

I think Polk was a great president. Said what he intended to do and did it, and was overall beneficial. It indirectly led to the abolition of slavery in the United States.

Said what he intended to do and did it
Same with
Orange Man
, and was overall beneficial.
In what ways (besides inspiring Thoreau)?
It indirectly led to the abolition of slavery in the United States.
How?

Also, I've came up with some possible campaign slogans for 2056:
"Death to America"
"We love death"
"MAGA - Make America Go Away"
"Hail Satan"
"We bleed just to know we're alive"
"Death to America and capitalism"
"Juche gang, Juche gang, Juche gang, Juche gang
Juche gang, Juche gang, Juche gang (Juche gang!)"
Let me know what you think.

I agree with much else. But why is Garfield higher than FDR and Lincoln?
