Yes, he does.
I thought there was a good chance. So that solves that issue, since not many kids are going to stop in the middle of the first book given how short it is and the illustrations. Only issue is your non-vegan parents, who I don't think will be that put off if they're interested in an environmental/animal saving book anyway.
And you apparently put in a disclaimer about the fruit. I think you're good!
