Just reading through the OP's last post, I do wonder whether they're getting enough calories. We must eat enough, or we'll inevitably crave high-fat, calorie-dense foods - like cheese and meat. If you don't eat enough and you like cheese and meat, then it's no wonder you keep wanting to eat them.

I find that if I eat enough, so called 'addictions' never occur. It does take a while to realise that a healthy vegan diet, high in whole foods does require much larger portions sizes than a standard diet. I feel really full after each meal but I haven't put on any weight since I went vegan.

I've been vegan for about a year and never once faltered, but I have sympathy if you're finding it tough.

For me, ethics were the most powerful motivator. EVERY meat product on the shelves requires a murder or torture. How many times is it acceptable to kill/torture something just to break a habit? For me, once was too much. After getting into the mindset that meat was a creature that wanted to live a day, week, month ago... the habit broke itself.

Focusing on the moral aspect and remembering where the meat came from can help a lot for many people. BUT if you're hungry enough, you'd eat your own mother. At a certain point, the hanger takes over and everything else just goes dull.

I have a feeling now that the main issue was not eating enough. It takes a lot of discipline to overcome hunger and resist the urge to eat anything in reach. And working at a fast food place, I can see how that could make it worse.

I think if he focuses on filling up well, and not skimping on enough volume, and enough healthier fat content, the main craving should go away and the rest aught to be manageable.
