There is a real issue that cats for households are bred, to be sold. They are not part of any ecosystem as such, and their numbers do not correspond to natural populations. It is not consistent with being vegan to get a pet cat. That supports more being bred to be sold. The only consistent way with being vegan to have a cat to care for is from a legitimate rescue, in which a cat would otherwise not survive or would be endangered. One cannot consistently being vegan plan for any animal being killed for choices.

Can it be? As far as I understand it, cats kill mice even when they aren't hungry. Cats are evil beasts.

There are cats that would need to be rescued, that is the only cat to take care of with being vegan, do not support breeding. And there are plant based foods for cats that have all the needed nutrients.
