It came out perfect, it worked like this I: boiled 1/2 a cup of water & added 1 cup of sugar stirred then added half of the canola oil once the sugar was caramelized I added it to three cups of oat meal flour and then added the 1 cup of home made cashew butter the rest of the oil a dash of cinnamon and a handful of raisins.brimstoneSalad wrote:
Looks good. Did it work out for you, or did you have to tweak the recipe much?
That was just my best guess, since I cook based on the look and feel of things, and tasting, rather than measuring.

Ah, half the sugar and water from my guess version(?); that sounds better. I don't like cookies too sweet either.PrincessPeach wrote: It came out perfect, it worked like this I: boiled 1/2 a cup of water & added 1 cup of sugar stirred then added half of the canola oil once the sugar was caramelized I added it to three cups of oat meal flour and then added the 1 cup of home made cashew butter the rest of the oil a dash of cinnamon and a handful of raisins.
And now that you can eat bananas, you could try smashed banana instead of sugar and water (although that still might need a little more sweetness).
Usually tasting the batter helps to adjust the sweetness. If I'm making something I'm unsure of, I bake a test cookie first, to see if I need to adjust the batter.

I will have to try it out with the bananas I wonder if the heat would bake the natural latex out of the banana?brimstoneSalad wrote:

One cup of sugar was just enough for sweetness, the fried sugar was so good to taste who would have thought! It was a very good, very easy, recipe I will be making these bi weekly from now on, it was easy and cheap too.
I have been searching for a good gluten free pan cake recipe do you have any?

Do the same thing, but add a little extra water to the batter, and some baking powder.PrincessPeach wrote: I have been searching for a good gluten free pan cake recipe do you have any?
Pancakes are easy. At the most basic, just mix any kind starchy flour and water to pancake batter consistency.
Everything else is pretty much optional, but a bit of baking powder (or baking soda and an acid, like molasses, lemon juice, etc.) is useful to give them a little fluff.
Adding a nut butter and some oil helps a lot with taste and consistency.
If you use syrup, you probably don't need to add sugar (or as much).
Let me know if you have any problems.

I have been making and eating these quesadillas several times during the last two weeks. Please see the link below. It calls for cheddar cheese, so I used Daiya Cheddar Style Shreds.
