It's unfortunate that you emailed the other club sponsor, now the Republican adviser can say he was going to report it first thing on Monday, and get off Scott free from the administration. Might be that nothing will happen now.

You may have to contact the ACLU.

Well, no, I doubt that. He kicked me out, he didn't just witness it.

Yes, but he can lie and then it's your word against his. The Administration probably won't believe a student over a teacher. Unless you can get another student there who witnessed it to come forward and do the right thing.

Otherwise, you'd need to contact legal representation.

He could've lied anyway, sending the email has no bearing on it. Right?

It does, because now he has time to construct his lie, and even get people to back up his claim.

If you had waited, he would have done two things wrong: Kicked you out himself, and didn't report the incident.

Now, he's accused of doing one thing wrong (because the time to report hasn't elapsed, he can just say he was going to Monday). So, now he just has to defend one charge of kicking you out by lying it away. He could even say you misunderstood or misheard what he said. That he was going to report the incident on Monday, and that what he said was that the misbehaving student had to leave, not you. Easy, he's off the hook.

Don't they all hate you? Won't they all lie?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telephone_recording_laws#United_States
States that currently require that all parties consent to the recording include: California,[21] Connecticut,[22] Florida,[23] Hawaii (in general a one-party state, but requires two-party consent if the recording device is installed in a private place),[22] Illinois (debated, see next section), Maryland,[24] Massachusetts[22] (only "secret" recordings are banned[25]), Montana (requires notification only),[26] Nevada,[27] New Hampshire,[28] Pennsylvania,[29] and Washington (however, section 3 of the Washington law states that permission is given if any of the parties announces that they will be recording the call in a reasonable manner if the recording contains that announcement).[30]
If you live in a one-party consent state, you can record a call or messages as evidence. Or even use an audio recorder during a conversation. The person may not admit it to a teacher, but you can get him or her on a recording, and that will probably hold up in court.

If you can get a recording from one of the students, that would help your case. But only if you're in a one-party consent state, as I understand, otherwise it would be inadmissible.

My stats is a one-party consent state!

There's one guy at the club who I'm sort of... Frenemies with. He's the one who said "registered republicans only" like as soon as I walked in, but we say hi to each other in the hallway and stuff. It's kind of bizarre.
Plan: I get to school early and find him and start recording.
"Hey _______, I think it was really unfair for you guys to kick me out of the club because I'm a liberal. I mean, why couldn't I be there?"
-he responds, inadvertently acknowledging what happened-
"I almost understand why students would do it, because they can be immature, but it's actually against the rules to kick someone out for that person's political views, you know. I feel like Mr. _________ at least should have tried to stop it. Wasn't it kind of ridiculous for him to kick me out also?"
-he responds, now acknowledging the adviser was apart of it-

What do you think?

I feel kind of slimy doing this, but it's only in case the teacher lies. I'm manipulating to expose the truth.

Too bad the guy who made a joke about murdering me wasn't there. He would probably back me up.

Sounds good, but test it first. It's VERY hard to record audio unless the mic is really close and it's very quiet.
Talk to some random people and record them (without them knowing). Pretend to be using your phone and checking something while having a conversation and kind of hold it up between you like you're looking at it.
Make sure you can do it a few times with good audio quality that you can make out what was said. It's not like in the movies.

It's much easier to record a phone call, or just use text messages to prove it. But this should work if you can get the mic (your phone) close enough to the other person and it's pretty quiet there.

Nothing wrong with it, it should be perfectly legal there. Hopefully you won't have to use it.

Hm, I think my phone is pretty good with that stuff. It records audio pretty easily if you take a video. I'll test it out with my friends first though (why bother trying to keep it a secret in the trials?).
My biggest worry is that I just won't be able to find him before school starts.

I don't have his phone number, so that's not really an option. Theoretically, I could email him, but that might be too suspicious?
