And people think vegan and metal doesn't mix.
I suppose you like Metal too? What styles and bands are among your favourites?
I think I understand what you mean by being especially glad there're vegan death metal fans here. It's because death metal's one of the more intense/aggressive styles and that goes against the grain of some vegan stereotypes, right? Do you think black metal is similar in terms of intensity? I actually think it can get to be about just as extreme, though I've heard many sentiments from people expressing how they feel it doesn't quite stack up to death metal and was wondering if your opinion was like that.
Sorry for the late response. My up most favourite band is Sybreed. They created the genre cyber metal. Love the mix between matrix/futuristic/cyberish lyrics. The overall sound amazes me with their epic guitar + computer generated sounds. My favourite song would have to be Ego bypass generator. (of course the band and song is one of many to talk about).
I think that I had heard of the band before, but thanks for mentioning them as it got me to finally check them out. I listened to the song "Ego Bypass Generator" and I liked it a fair bit. I'll probably check out the rest of the
Antares album as it seems like that's their generally most well received album.
Since you seem interested in metal with electronic and industrial influences, here're some recommendations from me on stuff relating to the style.
Solution .45 was one of the bands that they most reminded me of, though I think I prefer
Sybreed to
Solution .45 actually. I don't know much from
Solution .45 (just the stuff that was released for Rock Band 3,) but it might be worth checking out "Gravitational Lensing" by them. --
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fXJxtp8inWg -- I find S45 to be kinda too "-core" and "pop-y" for my taste right now, but it's probably still worth checking out. The other song that was released for RB3 was "Lethian Tears" which is a song that I like better. It's probably more pop-y actually, but I just find it more enjoyable, although it isn't quite as reminiscent of
Sybreed, as it doesn't have as much electronic stuff in it if I remember correctly and it's more of a ballad of sorts.
Samael is a big name in the electronic/industrial black metal genre and I like them a lot. Here's a more classic song from them -

Thorns the debut album has a fair bit of industrial and electronic influence, though a lot of the sound is focused on the guitars for much of the album, the guitars are layered/produced interestingly. This song's probably the most intense/harsh song of these recommendations. -

Ixion this is further removed from the rest, but I thought that the electronic elements and atmosphere made it worth a mention. They've got a sound which I think is best described as electronic/industrial atmospheric doom metal with a bit of influence from extreme metal. -

Forever Dawn I've really gotten into the guy's music recently. I had first heard about this project thanks to Armored Abolitionist mentioning it when VBMC was being talked about. Thanks Armored Abolitionist, \m/ - It's some great industrial/electronic/symphonic black metal, really worth checking out, and I think they have a decent bit more in common with
Sybreed than some of the others I had mentioned.

What are the types of death metal you enjoy? Do you like death metal which is experimental, technical, doomy, symphonic, or progressive, among others? What is it about black metal which has made it not as appreciable to you?
