Vs. Libertarian Socialist Rants thread

Post by Red »

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCVY0aIaw-V9GbWmlab4Z_dw
If the names 'CammehYahBams", or "ElectricUnicycleCrew" ring a bell, this is that guy.
Libertarian Socialist Rants (real creative name there, guy), or Cameron, is an anarcho-communist (if I'm not mistaken since he uses the red anarchist flag), feminist, anti-capitalist, SJW, intersectionalist (not a word, but who cares) YouTuber who provides YouTube with a lot of stupid shit, to be blunt.

Before that though, he used to be a good YouTube ranter that I used to watch from time to time. Then, out of the fuck nowhere, he becomes an Anarchist, and everything just went downhill from there.
I used to go along with the BS he spewed, but after watching some other YouTube videos that respond to him, and actually thinking about things for myself, I gradually realized this person was full of shit. All he has given to YouTube are anti-capitalist and feminist propaganda.

I particularly love his video that is obviously unbiased and objective as "Capitalism: An Introduction".

Anyways, if you were to head over to Cameron's channel, there are so many retarded videos, that anyone can refute them.

I've noticed a lot of things about Cameron.
1. He doesn't know what a fucking joke is.
In his most recent video, him and some other wanker decided to go after CultOfDusty. While I show little love for Dusty, and he does go after low hanging fruit, he at least provides people with content that is more truthful than Cameron's. Anyways, they addressed a comment that Dusty made on his Facebook. It went something along the lines of this:
"I have nothing against the Jewish people, but if one people or another has been trying yo wipe you out over and over again for thousands of years, at some point you might want to ask, "Maybe it's us?"
Obviously a joke right? Takes historical events and makes it into something that is dark, yet amusing. But not to Cameron. He went on to say that Dusty is an anti-semantic, victim blamer.
So, what does this say about Cameron?
A. He's just so stupid that he can't tell a joke from an argument.
B. He knows that this is a joke, yet is attacking it as if it were an argument to make Dusty look bad (which is intellectually dishonest).
C. He feels obligated since he's an anarchist (I'll get into this later).
Or D. All of the above.
I choose D (even if A and B contradict each other)

2. He loves false dichotomies.
Here's one of many examples.
If you go to his "The Great Brolosophers of YouTube: Top 10 Ultimate Cringefest" video, for number 7.
Cameron responds to a video that YouTube ranter NateTalksToYou made, which was also a response, to Ana Aconda. Ana begins the video by saying "... to teach women how to not get raped!", to which Nate responds "Right. I mean, you don't want to get raped, correct?" Ah why the fuck I am I bothering to explain this, here's a link: https://youtu.be/FvhyQPgnRwE?t=391
You know how he says "He doesn't give one solitary fuck about women"? You know what that tells me? He either cares about women, or he doesn't. If you question a woman's positions on rape, you are automatically a sexist. That's what I'm getting from it. Oh, you questioned a woman on a political matter? That must mean you're a sexist, you disgusting piece of shit! Yeah fucking right Cameron. (For Christ's sake, Nate has a fucking girlfriend you misinformed nitwit)

3. He's likely a feminist/intersectionalist out of obligation.
If you watch his "My Thoughts on Feminism", he claims that Feminism is a necessary part of Anarchism since it promotes equality more (And, from my understanding, under an anarchist society, everyone is equal, which sounds pretty asinine to me). This may explain a lot of his bullshit. He may not believe in feminism, but he has to, cuz he's an anarchist. Kind of ironic, since that feminism focuses solely on the rights of women. This isn't Saudi Arabia or the Pre-Roaring 20s where women are oppressed to no end. Wouldn't it make more sense to be an equalist at this point?

I have a few other things to get pissed off about, but it's getting late. I do want to debunk one of his videos, and maybe you guys can help. I like seeings Cameron as a high hanging fruit on a tree that sprouts low hanging fruit. He is a lot smarter than the anti-SJW crowd on YouTube, which is probably why he isn't brought up as much.

Anyways, here are 2 videos that refute 2 of Cameron's videos:
Cameron on Street Harassment: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ay0qthsZZMg (This video gave me cancer)
SuperFunnyBros response: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uO6TbZiy87U

Cameron on the Great Brolosophers on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FvhyQPgnRwE
IamL13 response: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n-SQrnl5lYE

These videos are a bit lengthy, so you don't have to watch them if you're not interested.

Wanna know what's funny? The Amazing Atheist has raised over 100,000 bucks to help women in third world countries, while Cameron's own charity has only raised $1.5k (the goal was 2,000 and has been running for over 2 years now) for a shitty anarcha-feminism conference. I know that Cameron has a significantly smaller fanbase than T.J., but come on, he hasn't raised 2,000 in over 2 years? Pathetic.

I know that women are a bit oppressed (not all states allow abortions), but he over exaggerates it by the Nth degree.
He isn't wrong on everything. He's a vegetarian/vegan (so he'll be right at home with Rational Vegan), and does support nuclear power.
There is so much more to say, but I'll add more tomorrow since my wrist is fucking killing me.

Am I wrong? Is Cameron right on his positions? Is he as intellectually dishonest as I say he is? Or am I?
Thanks for reading!

Cameron is confused.

Deontology -> Anarchism -> Extremist 3rd wave intersectional Feminism and all the rest

I would suggest you get to the root of the matter.

The root of the problem is deontology, and inconsistency on ethics. It's an obsession with the concept of "justice" regardless of the consequences or reality, which leads to these things.

Isn't libertarian socialism an oxymoron anyway?

As I see it there is tension between liberty and equality that can't easily be reconciled.

I'm guessing that it comes down to negative vs positive liberty
Google wrote:Positive liberty is the possession of the capacity to act upon one's free will, as opposed to negative liberty, which is freedom from external restraint on one's actions. A concept of positive liberty may also include freedom from internal constraints.
Is "liberty" even a useful term to begin with? It seems to have had a million different definition and uses throughout Western philosophy

Hey guys, I want to respond to this video here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ycbjvYC0sx8
I might not be able to respond to every point, but maybe some of you guys can help. I find a lot of things wrong with it though, so you know.
I'm a bit busy right now, but I will start making a response here on the forum later.

Arbitrarily redefining words. The guy's not being intellectually honest, and I don't think he's trying to be.

Red, I don't think this is worth your time. This isn't just low hanging fruit, it's retarded low hanging fruit. You don't want to fill your portfolio demolishing the straw man versions of these beliefs. Look for a steel man; find the strongest most well spoken and competent advocate who will engage with you.

Also, probably better to cover a full topic alone rather than a bunch of things muddled together.

True. Now thinking about it, wouldn't it be better just to use another term to define yourself to avoid the confusion? I mean, fine, keep libertarian socialist but you're gonna have to adapt to the mainstream (which this guy, judging by most of his content, clearly does not want to), so create another term to define yourself. No one cares if you were first or not.

Anyways.

I would, but I don't really have a lot of expertise to debate head-on a well-spoken person. Cameron is definitely smarter than me (well, at least in some weird aspect) I usually find myself getting pissed off about shit and start making rants while I'm doing other shit. Fat people, petitions, nihilists, The Amazing Atheist, the current generation, etc.

I just watched this video of his- https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=-LQ637QGWXY

I hate when politicians try to be 'relatable' to young people by being fake. It's really cringeworthy.
