I almost became vegan in college when a professor made us all watch Earthlings, but I gave up after a few days. Then last year I tried to give up meat purely for health reasons, then after seeing how easy it was and taking a new look at the arguments, I became vegan in the beginning of this year. Looking forward to meeting people here!

Welcome, pretty amazing your professor showed Earthlings.
That recidivism story isn't uncommon: It can be tricky to stay vegan without some nutrition knowledge. Merely removing meat usually leaves people hungry if they don't find plant protein to replace it with. Glad you're making it work now!

Yeah, the entire class was great, a sort of critical history of the 20th century. We talked about things like nuclear weapons tests and MKULTRA, but after Earthlings most of us just stayed silent about it. At the time I was eating most of my food in the college cafeterias, which had very little vegan protein. And the university itself had a "research" farm and was in the middle of farmland.

Hey glaringCephalopod! Sounds like you had an awesome professor. And you live in the same city as me.
If you don't mind me asking, what did you major in at college?
