There is a really great independent senator in Vermont who is running for President as a democrat called Bernie Sanders. Here is a short video promoting him, so you can get a sense of his positions: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C7L9V7oGRv8

Here is a video comparing him and Hillary: http://www.msnbc.com/up/watch/comparing ... 4433347759

And check this article out to see how he is currently doing in the polls: http://www.newyorker.com/news/john-cass ... mini-surge

I guess it is worth mentioning that he identifies as a socialist democrat, and is Jewish. How did Pat put it?
Pat Condell wrote:But of course that's just an impossible dream, because there's no way Jesus would ever be elected president. How many right wing Christians are going to vote for a liberal Jew? You've got more chance of getting blood out of a Jehovah's Witness. He's from the Middle East and he looks like a goddam hippie. The Fox network would crucify him, if he hadn't already been arrested as a terrorist. No, I think right now America is probably just a little too Christian for Jesus.

But that right now isn't this now, obviously, and we've gotten better since 2007. So what do you think? What chance does Bernie Sanders have at getting the democratic nomination, and what chance for becoming the next President?

And who do you think has the best chance at becoming President?

I like the sound of him as the president so far, as of right now he would have my vote. As to whether or not I think he has a chance, I think he does, I don't think the majority of people care if he is Jewish ( I could be wrong.) but I think that if here is a reason that he would lose, it would be because he is a socialist democrat. Many right wing Christians will look upon him with disdain. But those are just my thoughts.

He's got a lot of support on the internet it seems, but of course only US citizens can actually vote on him. But sometimes I do wonder how other countries would vote. Nonetheless this is going to be a very interesting election, and almost guaranteed to have some entertainment value since Donald Trump is also running.

The sad thing is that even the votes of US citizens are distorted. I fear it's likely Sanders will get screwed by the electoral colleges.

Yeah, that could also happen, I don't know about any of you, but when I first heard about the electoral college when I was in second grade, I thought it was the dumbest thing ever.( I still do.) But I digress, we will just have to see how it goes.

I saw some of Trump's announcement speech. He's funny.

I don't know about Sarah Palin.

Bernie Sanders is old (73), but he's also energetic and in good health. I wonder what his diet consists of.

Looks can be deceiving. I wouldn't make any bets without seeing his blood work.

He certainly is passionate about the issues.
